Mental Wellness in Schools
There is increasing research that highlights the growing number of young children and teenagers suffering from anxiety and low mood.
NHS Digital quoted by YoungMinds (a UK mental health charity), shared the statistics from 2004 to reveal the current state of play.
One in eight (12.8%) children and young people aged between five and 19 has a diagnosable mental health condition
The prevalence of 5-15-year-olds experiencing emotional disorders (including anxiety and depression) has increased by 48% from 3.9% in 2004 to 5.8% in 2017.

Relationship and Health Education

Mindfullness for Children
According to the Mental Health Foundation 2011, mindfulness practice is tremendously beneficially. It involves detachment from the mind’s activities and cultivating curiosity rather than judgement.
It amplifies a child’s ability to remain calm in challenging situations by imparting tools to prevent being absorbed in rumination, distraction and resistance.
Mindfulness practices helps the child rebalance his mind and body and reveals the ways to nature new perspectives, behaviours and solutions.
Emotional Freedom Technique for Children
Emotional freedom technique (EFT) is a non invasive technique which involves using fingers to tap on your face and upper body.
It has has been clinically proven to calm down emotional overwhelm by lowering cortisol levels which is known as the stress hormone in as little as one hour.
EFT helps children express their feelings, build confidence and emotional resilience with automatically enhances their capacity to learn.
